My own private Belson

to smash me if I don't comply
to rituals torture by water
sometimes I wish I could die.

The art of life is to know how to enjoy a little and to
endure very much.
It is preoccupation with possessions,
more than anything else,
that prevents us from living freely and nobly.
Life shrinks or expands
in proportion to one's courage.
It's hard to fight an enemy who has outposts in your head.
The two main hazards of
psychoanalysis: that it might fail, and that if it succeeds, you'll
never be able to forgive yourself for all those wasted years.
Courage is resistance to
fear, mastery of fear - not absence of fear.
Blessed is the person who
is too busy to worry in the daytime and too sleepy to worry at night.
What man actually needs
is not a tensionless state but rather the striving and struggling for
some goal worthy of him. What he needs is not the discharge of tension
at any cost, but the call of a potential meaning waiting to be fulfilled
Men are not prisoners of fate, but only prisoners of their own minds.
