Before writing to me please read and note the following:
It is with regret that I have
to say that I cannot enter into any regular corespondence. I have four
e-mail pals and there is simply not enough time to write regularly to
anyone else. I would appreciate your understanding in this and also the
matter below.
Please note I am unable to offer any advice by email or telephone. I am
not a mental health professional. This is a personal
website, created and maintained entirely by myself. I
sufferer with a number of debilitating conditions
including severe and intractable OCD, Depression, AS,
migraine, Chronic Daily Headaches and Fibromyaliga and
more recently osteoarthritis in the neck and jaw. I would
like to help all those who suffer with similar
conditions but I am simply not well enough or qualified to do so. Receiving requests for help causes much anxiety
for me and although I have in the past endeavoured to offer what support
and advice I can, I can now no longer do so.

I am sorry but at the
present time I have no information concerning similar organisations for
international visitors.
Despite the above
request which could not be
more clear people continue to write to me requesting assistance. I
deeply regret that if this continues I will have to exclude my e-mail
address as it is very stressful for me to respond and even more
stressful to ignore such requests. Sadly I can do little to help. My
health has deteriorated and as selfish as this may seem I do need time
to do other things with the decreasing time that I have. I ask for your
understanding on this matter. If I have to resort to removing my e-mail
address this will of course make it impossible for anyone to contact me
to include their examples of creativity a theme upon which the website
is focused and other issues.
The only reason I can think of
as to why people continue to ignore my request is the statement on the
home page under the heading Purpose of the Website which may cause
confusion:
"...sufferers are invited to share their experiences and
perspectives concerning his or her particular illness. By
sharing experiences and accomplishments this web site has the
purpose of alleviating the feelings of worthlessness, loneliness
and isolation often experienced by sufferers of these disorders,
as they are met with a lack of understanding from mainstream
society."
This is an invitation for you
to send in your experiences with OCD for me to publish on the website
for others to read, it is not an invitation for you to request help with
your OCD or other conditions. I sincerely regret this but right now I
simply cannot cope with offering advice or entering into any long term
correspondence.
So please think before you
write to me. I know how desperate you can get with OCD and it seems it
is only people with OCD who ignore my request, but please try to
understand that it is not always easy for a fellow sufferer to offer
advice as such can cause so much anxiety. Besides my OCD is severe and
chronic and frankly there is nothing I can really say that will either
help or encourage anyone else and may in fact make matters worse.
Comments
Constructive criticism will be
welcomed concerning accuracy of information.
General comments on any aspect of OCD, OCSDs
Anxiety disorders and Anorexia Nervosa and any aspect of this web site
are also invited, however I cannot enter into regular correspondence.
Please be aware that it may
take some time for me to either respond to e-mail or to include
contributions of artwork etc. As already mentioned above, in addition to OCD I suffer from a couple
of other debilitating illnesses and therefore delay in response may be
inevitable from time to time. Furthermore inclusion of contributions may
be limited to available web space and such inclusions may be for only a
temporary period and may need to be rotated if necessary to include
submissions by others.
In addition I reserve the right to exclude
any contributions of art work or written work etc that may not be in the
best interests of sufferers of any of the conditions mentioned on this web site.
Also I would
appreciate it if anyone noticing inactive links or any other problem
would kindly let me know. Also I have only been able to test this web
site using Internet Explorer, if there are problems with any
other browser please let me know and I will do my best to rectify the
problem.
